Steel Panther - Balls Out

Steel Panther claims to be the hottest band out of Hollywood since Mötley Crüe, Guns 'N Roses and Poison ruled the Sunset Strip. Some pressure for their newest album Balls Out, eh?!? Well expectations from me weren't very high since I am a huge consumer of Mötler's music. And luckily my expectations weren't that high. Music is good, even great, no doubt about that. The lyrics.. not so much. In their own genre they're pretty much THE thing. If their genre is considered to be something I'd like to call humorous rock. The lyrics sound like their written with a tongue in the cheek, nothing too serious, nothing to touch my feelings really.

The new album holds 14 tracks and is more or less worth listening, at least once. It might work well as a background music for a party or something but I wouldn't listen to this band otherwise. Guitar riffs are great and I do like the vocals. But the lyrics. To tell you the truth, there was only one song on this album that caught my attention, track number 13, Let Me Come In. I don't want to lower these guys in any way, because it is obvious that they are pretty talented. Maybe it's just me but then again, I never was into comedy or parody. If you're into such thing, I wont judge you for that, but I'm more about action and my sence of humour is more dry and hidden style.
